The Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology was designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the computer industry. BS IT degree program is intended to foster the crucial information and necessary abilities to tackle a wide scope of processing issues. The curriculum offers a strong foundation in computer science and provides electives that can be tailored to a variety of career goals.
It is designed specifically to meet this need by emphasizing technology skills, business knowledge, and project management skills. We have designed our program for students who are committed to success by integrating theory and practice into each course through real-world applications, case studies and industry examples. This program provides students with a bridge to take advantage of the growing demand for information systems professionals.
This is an age of technology and information which is globally expending and changing at a very rapid speed. Communication technologies including: internet, intranet etc. have already reformed how people work, communicate or socialize and most of these can be credited to the way technology have evolved over the last decade or so. Effective use of information technologies has not only become a critical success factor in modern society but also pose a major challenge in many respects.
BS IT being offered at The Centre of Excellence in Advanced Studies is a blend of information and technology that is making information available to all on as and when required basis but in a managed way. The degree offers courses across the complete spectrum of IT, ranging from non-technical areas such as the nature of information and organizational needs for IT, through the hardware, software, network and multimedia technologies which are used to satisfy these needs, to the development and management skills needed to create and implement computer-based information systems.
We believe on making students learn and gain professional work experience, therefore, all students enrolled in this program will be engaged in different organizations, where they will have an opportunity to apply what they learn under supervision of true professionals from the industry.
Eligibility Criteria
FSc/ICS/A Levels with at least 50 % marks
3 Years Diploma (PBTE Recognized) with Mathematics worth 150 and Computer Science 100 marks
Students who did not study mathematics in FSc or A levels, are required to complete 2 courses in Mathematics (non-credit) during the first two semesters.
Credit Hours
At least 130 credit hours are required to complete degree. A summary of the courses is appended here, however, detailed scheme of studies is available from the Registrar Office.
Duration
Minimum Four years or 8 semesters of at least 16 weeks of teaching. Students, who don’t manage to complete their degree within 8 semesters, may be allowed extension for 3 additional semesters upon written request depending upon their academic performance.
Fee Structure
The semester fee will be PKR 80,000 per semester and will stay the same for all those students who don’t not fail any course or skip course/semester during their entire program of study.
The total charges at the time of admission will be as follows: –
Admission Fee PKR 20,000
Security Fee PKR 5,000 (Security fee is non-refundable and will be converted into graduation fee)
Semester Charges PKR 80,000
Total Payable at the time of Admission PKR 105,000

Each and every student will be employed for one day/week from the 2nd semester for the remaining duration of the course i.e. 3 1/2 years. This will help students to have work placement and experience for the next 3/1/2 years and when the course will be finished he/she will be employed already.
Our HR team will explore the students mind set that which sector they are interested to have career in such as IT, business, marketing etc and we will get them job for one day/week on the relevant sector so they can learn accordingly and have career without any problem.
This modal is not being adopted by any institution in Pakistan but only CAS.
