Overview

The Centre of Excellence Studies in Advanced Studies (CAS) has lunched two courses of six months duration for students who have recently qualified as Bachelor of Science in either Computer Science or Software Engineering. Even though, these courses are for fresh graduates, yet anyone who has finished his/her degree or is in the last semester of studies, can also apply as long as he/she qualifies our specially designed test to demonstrate an acceptable level of knowhow to make the most from these courses.
Purpose of the Courses

Due to academic system along with less opportunities available for youth in Pakistan, unfortunately, there is a massive gap between the qualifications achieved by an individual and the real work environment. Students are normally not given exposure to real life technologies, techniques and standards which are being practiced or norm in real professionalsettings. Several reasons can be quoted for this deficiency in the education system of Pakistan but that is not our debate here. These courses have been designed exclusively with the intent to close that gap;so that our graduates after following these courses become industry ready. In other words, these courses will assist to reduce the costs and time spent by employers and employees to get them to a level where employees begin to contribute professionally. We will make every humanly possible effort to get you to a level where you don’t need any further training and can start working.

Topics to be covered

Exact topics will be given by the instructors themselves, however, keep in mind that the following aspects will be focused upon in the course.

Feasibility and working plan of the project
System Analysis and Design (Documentation)
Requirement gathering
Physical design of the project
Project development such as: front end, back end, data connectivity, security, services, coding industrial practices and standards etc.
Testing
Quality assurance
Free lancing techniques, opportunities and bidding process etc.

All the above topics will be taught by an expert from the industry and only those areas will be covered which are necessary to make you a better groomed professional rather than lengthy topics as have been the case during your studies. Students will also be using latest development tools as per requirement of the industry.

Who can participate?

Fresh graduates from Computer Science or Software Engineering domain. Students who are in their last semesters can also join as long this extensive course does not affect their studies. All potential participants are required to appear in a special designed examination, so that it can be judged if this is the right course for them or not.
